Position: Accounts Assistant (AP, 6 months temp, maternity cover) (Job ID: 19132)
Our client is looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their team to cover a member going off on maternity leave. This will be a 6 month non-renewable contract role. The working location is in the North and in a factory environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare daily cheque payments for shipments and others
- Check and scrutinize invoices for accuracy, and correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries, resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
- Perform data entry of vendor's invoices into the accounting system (estimated 500 transaction per month)
- Prepare creditor's payments with payment vouchers, and key into the accounting system (estimated 500 transaction per month)
- Prepare payment vouchers for debit advice from Banks (GIRO & bank charges)
- Ensure all payments and invoices are accurately processed in the accounting system (SAP) and within expected time periods
- Maintain records of vendors for new and changes as and when requested by purchaser or engineers (vendor master maintenance)
- Finalise accounts payable outstanding balance by reviewing AP aging report generated from the accounting System
- Perform period end creditors' reconciliation
- Perform period end bank reconciliation
- Assist with month-end closing (IO reports)
- Filing AP document
- Perform any assigned ad-hoc tasks
Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in Finance/Accountancy or equivalent with at least 3 years of experience in related field
- Professional certification will advantageous.
- Knowledge of SAP is required.
- Advanced proficiency in financial software systems & MS Office suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to details.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
