Senior Coastal Engineer/Climate Adaptation - Singapore
Context of the position
Haskoning Singapore Pte. Ltd. delivers consultancy services for various engineering disciplines through our business lines Water&Martime, Industry&Buildings, Mobility&Infrastructure and Digital. The Business Line Water&Maritime is recruiting for a Senior Coastal Engineer specialized in coastal engineering and climate adaptation for projects in Singapore.
With the growing order portfolio of climate adaptation, coastal engineering and flood resilience services in Singapore, the Business Line Water&Maritime wishes to hire a Senior Coastal Engineer to act as senior coastal engineer and team lead. This person is to have expert input in large and complex climate adaptation projects as well as leading design teams. The Lead Coastal Engineer will report to the assigned Project Manager/Director, who is overseeing the overall budget and progress for these projects.
The job
The role’s responsibility is to provide senior expertise on coastal climate adaption, coastal engineering as well as having a role in the technical feasibilities studies and design services related to our coastal, maritime and climate adaptation projects; this includes the interaction with multi-disciplinary project teams (with members in various countries), ensure the quality and planning are met according to the client’s expectations, and providing knowledge transfer of coastal and climate adaptation issues.
The Lead Coastal/Climate Adaption Engineer is expected to successfully:
· Show thought leadership in his/her field of expertise;
· Provide top level flood risk, coastal adaption, land reclamation and coastal engineering services.
· Provide technical guidance to the multi-disciplinary project teams;
· Monitor the quality, planning and budget of the project components under his/her responsibility
The Lead Coastal & Climate adaption Engineer will be based in Singapore. However, the position may require short-term travel and a flexible attitude is expected of the candidate on other tasks, like business development activities, that may come-up next to the core responsibilities of the role.
Your profile
The position requires over 8 years relevant domain knowledge and experience in managing coastal-related, land reclamation, maritime engineering and climate adaptation projects. The successful candidate is expected to combine its domain knowledge with leadership abilities for multi-disciplinary coastal engineering projects in multiple countries in South-East Asia. International experience in combination with specifically Asia and Singapore experience is an important requirement. Proficiency in English is a must.
You ideally already reside in Singapore and hold valid working rights but an employment pass visa will be considered for the right candidate.
