International School Deputy Head Of School

Starting date: 01 August 2024


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily school operations i.e. buses, ECA's, behaviour etc.
  • Manage school reporting i.e. management report, attendance report, Parent Teacher Conferencing scheduling etc.
  • Manage school uniform procurement and distribution and maintain database
  • Assist the Head of School in preparing, leading and managing school events and activities i.e. Open House, assemblies, special events etc.
  • Lead and manage the planning and implementation of whole school excursions, school yearbook, school residential camp/s and international trips etc.
  • Maintain and ensure school licensing complies with government regulations.
  • Teach any classes assigned and provide teacher coverage as deemed necessary.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Head of School and management from time to time.
  • Responsible for the creation of teacher timetables, duty rosters, sick cover etc.
  • Manage the staffing and timetabling of school holiday camp schedules.
  • Support the Head of School in the creation of professional development opportunities for staff both internally and externally.
  • Staff Management and Development: Support the recruitment, induction, and professional development of teaching and support staff. Conduct performance appraisals and mentor staff to promote high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Curriculum and Academic Oversight: Oversee the delivery of the curriculum to ensure it meets international standards and the diverse needs of students. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning, curriculum implementation, and student achievement.
  • Student Welfare and Discipline: Work with staff to create a safe and supportive learning environment. Oversee student welfare policies, including behaviour management, safeguarding, and pastoral care.
  • Parental Engagement: Strengthen communication and engagement with parents and the wider school community. Participate in parent meetings, informational sessions, and school events.
  • Operational Management: Assist in the daily operations of the school, including scheduling, resource allocation, and facility management. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Promote innovation in teaching and learning strategies. Lead initiatives for continuous improvement in academic standards and student outcomes.
  • School Representation: Represent the primary programme and participate in school-wide leadership meetings. Act as a point of contact for the Head of Programme in his/her absence.
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings in collaboration with the Head of School.
  • Be up to date with internationally recognised Safeguarding Training and lead staff in Safeguarding initiatives and training.

Requirements:

  • Must have a university degree in Education and QTS or equivalent.
  • Must have a minimum of 7 -10 years prior teaching experience
  • Experience as a Vice Principal in an international school setting is desirable
  • Must be a detail-oriented and experienced teacher.
  • Ability to manage budgets and execute projects within the school to ensure continuous improvement.
  • References from your current school are essential.
  • Experience with CPE and Edutrust is highly desirable.
  • Essential detail oriented.
