Your Job
We are seeking a Process Plating Engineer to support the plating operations and drive continuous improvement in processes, productivity, and cost efficiency. You'll also assist in data analysis, reporting to management, and conduct investigations.
Our Team
You will work closely with internal departments, suppliers, and customers. Your role will impact the efficiency of the plating department and contribute to New Product Developments/Projects.
What You Will Do
- Analyze and enhance plating operations to boost quality, safety, efficiency, and maintain cleanliness, while effectively communicating improvements with plating staff.
- Proactively gather feedback from those operating equipment and from technical staff to confirm optimal uptime and productivity of machinery and processes.
- Innovate by designing, overseeing, and introducing new methods, as well as by assessing and acquiring advanced plating equipment to heighten production velocity, elevate product excellence, and increase procedural capacity.
- Develop and deliver training for operators, along with creating or updating documentation and procedural guidelines for emerging or altered processes.
- Contribute to design evaluations and the execution of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Discover, apply, and monitor initiatives aimed at reducing costs and preventing unnecessary expenditures.
- Dedicate efforts to refining processes and enhancing overall productivity.
- Maintain meticulous records and documentation related to plating operations.
- Compile and present frequent reports, either weekly or monthly, to keep management informed.
- Champion initiatives that foster productivity and a culture of continuous improvement.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- You have an Associates degree or higher in a technical field or 5 years of plating experience.
- You possess knowledge of chemistry, electronics, statistics, and control systems.
- You're experienced with plating processes and FMEA's.
- Your computer and analytical skills are well developed.
What Will Put You Ahead
- A degree in chemistry, materials engineering, or a related engineering discipline is preferred.
- Adeptness in troubleshooting and systematic project planning is a plus.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and project management skills will distinguish you as a team player.
