About Singapore Canoe Federation:

The Singapore Canoe Federation (SCF) was founded in 1971 and is the National Sports Association responsible for the management, coordination, development and promotion of paddling in Singapore. It represents the interest of its athletes and members to Sport Singapore (Previously known as the Singapore Sports Council), the Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC), the public and other International paddling bodies.

The SCF is an affiliate of both the Asian Canoe Confederation and the International Canoe Federation. As a non-profit organisation, the SCF relies mainly on its volunteers and its small group of staff. It is mainly funded through Sport Singapore.


Our Aims:

To promote opportunity for public participation in a full range of paddling activities in Singapore with high standards of safety. Among other things, the SCF aspires to:

● Nurture and prepare its elite and potential elite athletes to medal at the SEA Games, Asian Games, Olympic Games and other regional/international competitions.

● Uphold high standards of sportsmanship.

● Champion the development and enjoyment by the public of all paddling disciplines in Singapore.

● Develop and promote Singapore as a venue of choice for regional/international paddling championships/events.

Job Purpose:

The Events and Programme Executive/Manager is responsible for the planning and oversight of a vibrant calendar of events sanctioned by SCF. Working closely with the Marketing and Business Development Manager, he/she develops and oversees the execution of a detailed event project plan, which includes provision for event logistics, event production, marketing communication, sponsorship, fundraising, budget provision and coordination with various departments, management team and operation management. He/she will also liaise with any external event organiser on the organisation of events that the event organiser undertakes.

He/she is responsible for the administration and management of SCF programmes and courses.

He/she reports to the Operations Manager (OM).


Key Duties/ Responsibilities

1. Event Management

1.1. Responsible for the overall event management of SCF-sanctioned events. This includes local competitions, fundraising events, corporate events and other non-sporting events.

1.2. Liaise with external event organiser to coordinate the organising of events whenever SCF engages one.

1.3. Coordinate with vendors Ground operation activities at venue or outlet where required to support the operation during events.

1.4. Serve as the primary contact between vendors, contractors, sponsors and other relevant parties to ensure smooth execution of all events.

1.5. Plan and propose event budget, programme rundown and workflow, manage proposal, coordinate and manage the set-up and production, safety and risk management of all events.

1.6. Liaise with relevant agencies for any administrative and/or regulatory requirement for the use of event venues.

1.7. Responsible for collecting registration fees for events and working closely with Finance Dept to ensure all events fees are collected and payments are processed accurately.

1.8. Responsible for managing event registrations and handling follow-up tasks.

1.9. Ensure all events are executed smoothly and generate a profit.



2. Course and Programme Management

2.1. Attend to queries and manage corporate, school and public requests for courses and programmes.

2.2. Analyse trends with regards to programmes and courses to improve participation rate and satisfaction.

2.3. Keep abreast of trends to conceptualise new programmes with target groups in mind and recommendation for delivery.

2.4. Develop and maintain an online system for course and programme registration and payment.


3. Other Responsibilities

3.1. To undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as required by the OM and/or General Manager.



Qualifications and Working Experience Requirements

At least 2 years of relevant working experience in event management.

New hires with relevant internship experience will be considered as well.

Prior experience in Sport Event Management/National Sports Associations will be an advantage

· A team player who strives in a challenging and fast moving environment

· Able to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks whilst achieving deadlines

· Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills

· · Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite

· Willing to work on some weekends and extended working hours on weekdays.

· Willing to assist the team and the Federation as and when required

· Possession of Pleasure craft driving licence (PPCDL), Class 3/4 driving license and/or First Aid Certification will be an added advantage
