The Pastoral Team Staff (Boys’ Brigade) is responsible for providing pastoral care, support and guidance to boys of the 12 Barker Road Singapore Company, providing support in matters relating to the Company finance and administration, as well as assisting the Company Chaplain and working closing with the Boys’ Brigade leaders.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Planning and Organising:
- Assist in the organization of the Enrolment Parade and Service, 12 Barker Road Singapore Company Alumni Thanksgiving Dinner, and other ad-hoc activities.
2. Spiritual Nurture (Feed, Train, Protect, Encourage):
- Nurture Officers and Primers through cell group, training in their formal and informal means, and provide spiritual counselling to Officers/Primers/Boys
and to make referral to clinical counselling when needed. - Develop and implement Christian Education curriculum, conduct Christian Education through teaching or arranging of classes, review the Christian
Education syllabus over the year, and appoint and train officers to conduct Christian Education with the Pastoral Team Staff. - Organise Character Quest training to prepare the 12 Barker Road Singapore Company boys for the Character Question competition.
- Develop and initiate areas of opportunities for 12 Barker Road Singapore Company boys with the objective of church membership.
3. Assist in executing Company tasks when needed.
4. Assist in the Company finance process and administration.
5. Be the liaison between the Brigade, church, and Company.
6. Coordinate with any of the church ministries on activities that involve the participation of the boys from the 12 Barker Road Singapore Company.
7. Any other additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor or pastors in current ministry and/or other ministries, including but not limited to:
- Serving as a Service Pastoral Team Staff during church services
- Serving in other church events
- Conducting of wake services
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Theological Degree/Diploma in an accredited institution
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE AND SKILLSETS:
- At least one-year relevant experience of involvement/working with the Boys’ Brigade.
- Able to connect with Youth.
- Able to work independently under minimal supervision.
- Able to multi-task.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- An innovative team player, self-motivated and pro-active.
