- 6 to 10 years of total accounting/audit exp, including min 3 to 4 years of corporate accounting experience gained in the asset management/PE/ investment management industry
- Role covers corporate accounting, month end close, MAS reporting, management reporting etc.
- Good knowledge of FRS/IFRS and consolidation is required
Our client is a global PE firm backed by a blue chip and international investment/PE firm. The co’s global HQ is in Singapore with another office in Shanghai.
For this role, you will report to the FD and work in the finance team taking care of mainly corporate accounting (excluding fund admin/ fund ops which is handled by another person in the finance team). This role can be at the SA or AD Corporate Accounting level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Key member of the Finance team that manages all aspects of financial reporting, tax, operations and investments’ valuations
- Responsible for financial close process for group corporate entities, and ensure accurate financial reporting and timely submissions for statutory, regulatory, tax, head office and other reporting requirements
- Monitor and track key metrics for regulated entities
- Provide timely management information and analysis to the business and management
- Support the financial planning process, including budgets, forecasts and long-term business plans
- Prepare and present materials for Board and Audit Committee meetings
- Manage cashflow and liquidity to meet operating needs, including optimising cash on hand by exploring feasibility of safe instruments and review of policy, and negotiations with financial institutions
- Support internal audit, external audit and tax-related reporting processes
- Operational support including trade processing, settlement and reconciliation, brokers and custodians’ due diligence, payment process, intercompany settlement and corporate actions
- Involvement in firm-wide projects including new entities setup, fund structuring etc
- To proactively identify opportunities to simplify end-to-end processes and drive efficiency, while maintaining strong compliance and controls
- Participate in ad-hoc projects assigned
Qualifications & requirements:
- At least 6-10 years of relevant work experience; prior experience in asset management firm or private equity fund (and MAS regulatory reporting exposure) is an advantage but not a plus.
- Self-motivated, good communication skills, meticulous, organised, able to work independently and a proactive team player
- Good knowledge of FRS/IFRS and consolidation is required
- Keen to learn and take on new challenges in a growing firm (which is now lean).
- Hands-on and able to thrive in a lean team
- Prior external audit exp is useful but not a must
- Mandarin speaking proficiency (speak and read) is required as this role will require to interact with China counterparts in Mandarin occasionally
