The Senior M&E Manager is responsible for the overall operation, functionality and progression of M&E teams of the company. He shall lead our own in-house M&E staffs which may include Manager, Engineers, Coordinators, BIM modeler, Supervisors and Technicians.
A summary of the responsibilities of this position are, and not limited to, as follows:
- Be able to liaise with relevant statutory, agencies department in relation to M&E services connection. Familiar with timeline and procedures for M&E services permit and approval.
- Be able to liaise with Employers, Employers’ Representatives and Consultants to arrive at consensus for the smooth operation of M&E matters.
- Be able to demonstrate good example and lead the project M&E team members to meet targeted project timeline with quality products.
- Be able to manage project nominated sub-contractor, direct sub-contractor, vendors and suppliers to meet the project timeline with cost control and quality output.
- Assist in new project tendering and procurement of M&E related sub-contracts.
- Involve in project management and contract administration of project.
- Review and approve M&E drawings, specifications, calculations, and reports.
- Monitor and control the M&E budget, schedule, and resources.
- Identify key design and delivery issues / solutions or risks.
- Establish and maintain good relationship with clients / developers, sub-contractor and suppliers.
- Review M&E tender documents and highlight contractual requirements including proposal for value engineering.
- Liaise with statutory agencies, client, consultants, sub-contractors, vendors and project site operation team to facilitate installation works and progress on site.
- Adherence to safety practices in the work site / place.
Skills and Requirements
- Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized University / Polytechnic, with safety certifications a plus.
- Experience: At least 15 years’ experience in managing M&E projects in a main-contractor firm
- At least 10 years’ experience in a leadership role in construction project management
- Excellent understanding of commercial Mechanical & Electrical systems.
- Knowledge in electrical, ACMV, Ducting, Process Piping, and other M&E related systems.
- Proficient in MS Office applications and experience in using ACAD and BIM a plus.
