Roles & Responsibilities
- Defining project activities, developing project activity sequencing, establishing activity resource needs and establishing activity durations.
- Developing working schedule.
- Check plans for conformance with regulations regards line, grade, size, elevation and location of structures.
- Participates in pre-design, construction and utility coordination meetings and issue construction permits.
- Reviewing and inspecting work to ensure conformance with plans and specifications, tracking and maintaining all project accounting.
- Coordinating and controlling project schedules.
- Investigates field problems affecting property owners, contractors and maintenance operation.
- Provides technical review for construction.
- RA leader for the project.
- Ensure subcontractor compliance company standards and specifications, time and budget estimates.
- Provides technical review for construction plans and recommends changes as necessary.
- Keeps immediate supervisor and designated others accurately informed concerning work progress including present and potential work problems and suggestions for new or improved ways of address such problems.
- Plan, organize, assign, supervise and review the work of assigned staff, evaluate employee performance, counsel employees and effectively recommend initial disciplinary action.
- Assist in construction team employee selection and promotion
- Implements procedures and standards and train staff in work procedures.
- Supervise, plan, design and inspect all phases of civil engineering works, including defining the scope of the project.
- Performing research, map and field studies and survey and drafting site plans.
- Schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines.
- Determine labour requirements and deploy workers to construction site.
- Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes and other regulations.
- Direct and supervise workers.
- Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods.
- Requisition supplies and materials to complete construction projects.
- Prepare and submit budget estimates and progress and cost tracking reports.
- Take actions to deal with the results of delays, bad weather or emergencies at construction sites.
- Discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints and construction problems with client, contractors and design professionals.
- Plan, organized and direct activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures and facilities.
- Investigate damage, accidents or delays at construction sites to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out.
- Evaluated construction methods and determine cost effectiveness of plans.
- Encourage and building mutual trust, respect and cooperation among team members.
Education Qualification
- Minimum Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering/Electrical Engineering/ Engineering.
Experience / Skill Required
- Minimum 8 years of experience in a senior leadership position.
- CSCPM Cert.
- RA bizSAFE Lv 2 cert will have an added advantage.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationship and partnership with key stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of project management principles and practices.
- Willing to travel to Tuas South (company transportation provided).
