SPECIFIC JOB AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Update and evaluate metrics to assess performance and implement enhancements.
2. Select carriers and negotiate contracts and rates.
3. Meet costs, productivity, timeliness targets accurately.
4. Keep records of all delivery activities, documenting procedures, guidelines, and changes in procedures for reference purposes’
5. Lead daily control meetings, identifying issues and actions to be taken.
6. Plan, organize, and manage subordinate staff members to ensure work is completed and consistent with the company's standards.
TECHNICAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
1. Monitor existing logistic systems and making suggestions for improvements when needed
2. Develop new strategies to streamline processes and reduce cost
3. Provide oversight for budgetary, scheduling, and report regularly to senior managers about progress, plans, and problems that could affect costs or schedules.
4. Evaluate transportation cost and other expenses and verify that they are not more than the amount charged to clients, to ensure that a positive account balance is left at the end of every transaction.
5. Manage logistics personnel including supervision, scheduling, performance management, and more.
6. Plan routes and load scheduling for multi-drop deliveries.
