What a Manufacturing Development Engineer does in HP:
• Designs portions of engineering solutions utilizing multiple engineering disciplines for low to moderately- complex products, systems, software, and solutions based on established engineering principles and development technology guidelines, while ensuring cost effectiveness.
• Participates as a member of project team of other engineers and internal and outsourced development partners and works towards ensuring products and solutions developed are reliable, and high quality.
• Develops and implements parameters and test plans for existing designs, including validation of mechanical, electrical, software, and other engineering specifications and requirements.
• Conducts inspection of performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency; identifies corrective action of problems and deficiencies.
• Optimizes concepts and designs with analytical and physical assessments, to further increase efficiency and quality.
• Delivers designs and other program deliverables on time and within budget.
• Collaborates and communicates with internal and outsourced development partners on engineering design and development.
• Works independently on moderate scope problems, applying professional expertise, exercising judgment, and resolving various issues by following company policies and procedures.
• Develops conclusions, recommendations, and written reports, contributing proactively through research and data analysis support, and sharing knowledge to foster a knowledge management culture.
• Develops new acceleration techniques, analytical tools and quality screens to assure the early identification of potential problems with new products.
Individuals who will do well in this role usually possess:
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically has 2-4 years of work experience, preferably in engineering design, engineering design tools and software packages, or a related field or an advanced degree with little or no work experience.
• Product Certification

• Automation and Jig/Fixture design
• Computer Science and Product Test environment
