The Sales Engineer is responsible for maintaining in-depth knowledge of product components, functionalities, and processes, and providing technical expertise to facilitate sales closures tailored to client requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Thorough understanding of product parts, functions, and processes.
- Serve as primary point of contact for customers, ensuring timely resolution of inquiries and issues, and delivering exceptional service.
- Customize, design, develop, and test new products to meet customer needs.
- Identify and explore new markets and product opportunities.
- Expand business opportunities and nurture existing customer relationships.
- Foster and sustain relationships with current and prospective clients.
- Assist in closing sales, particularly where technical expertise is crucial for client satisfaction.
- Generate sales leads and oversee sales orders.
- Support in preparing quotations and managing customer orders.
- Maintain records such as Certificates of Compliance, NAFTA Certificates, Quality Reports, and RMAs.
- Participate in marketing events and networking sessions.
- Gather and analyze customer, competitor, and industry data to produce market intelligence reports and collaborate closely with the product development team.
- Assist with sales reporting and forecasting.
- Update and manage the customer database.
- Conduct product presentations to current and potential clients.
Requirements:
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Proficiency in reading engineering drawings; familiarity with CAD software is advantageous.
- Competence in Microsoft Office and Windows applications.
- Ideally 1-2 years of sales experience in the engineering sector; recent graduates are also welcomed to apply.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
