As a Senior Design Manager on the Consumer Experience team, you will manage designers and UX writers working in a highly collaborative fashion across several problem spaces as they explore the needs of our users and the business to create impactful solutions that drive our mission forward.If you have a user-centric approach, embrace ambiguity and thrive in collaborative environments, then the Grab Design team is the place for you. We’re looking for great design managers, who can coach and mentor a growing team, who can think strategically and act decisively, and who can help the team positively impact how millions of people across Southeast Asia interact with Grab.
The day-to-day activities
- Drive design outcomes, contribute to product strategy & elevate quality across teams.
- Manage Product Designers, UX Writers and UX Researchers working across several problem spaces.
- Coach and mentor designers in solving complex and novel problems in simple and impactful ways.
- Ensure design quality and superior user experience.
- Drive and improve cross-functional collaboration at all levels.
- Work closely with Product Management, Engineering, Analytics, Research, Marketing, and senior leadership to deliver impact.
- Articulate complex thinking in a clear, convincing and concise manner.
- Develop and implement effective design processes.
The must-haves
- 7+ years Product Design experience.
- 4+ years experience managing high performing design teams.
- An online portfolio or case studies demonstrating user-centred design and leadership.
- Great core product design skills: visual design, prototyping and interaction design.
- Excellent understanding of user experience design for the web and mobile.
- Experience working on cross-functional product teams.
- Experience with Figma, Sketch, Protopie and other design tooling.
- Strong knowledge of mobile and front-end web standards and development.
The nice-to-haves
Experience in User Research, Service Design, UX Writing or Design Operations are all a plus.
