Our client a leading integrated energy tading firm is looking for a dynamic senior oil market analyst............
Primary Functions/Responsibilities:
-Analyze fundamental data to update monthly supply and demand crude balances, particularly focusing on Asia and the Middle East markets.
-Use Linear Programming models to calculate arbitrage opportunities for various crude grades considering RCV values and freight costs.
-Maintain and update complex databases with data sourced from multiple governmental and agency sources, ensuring accuracy in modeling refinery operations and trade flows.
-Track global refinery maintenance, expansions, and significant changes in crude trade flows and fuel specifications.
-Develop and refine models to support dynamic business needs and respond to market changes.
-Provide daily and ad-hoc analysis on global crude market conditions, integrating market intelligence from various publications and original research.
-Collaborate with traders in weekly strategy meetings to formulate market views and trading ideas based on refined data analysis.
-Manage and enhance data systems using advanced statistical software and programming languages to support analysis and model development.
Education, Skills & Experience:
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
6-10 years of relevant experience in commodity trading, trading support, refinery market planning, or fundamental research.
Demonstrated expertise in financial, economic, and statistical analysis or modeling, with a strong preference for experience in Linear Programming.
Proficiency in Excel, Access, or other database software; familiarity with R, MATLAB, EViews, or Stata is highly desirable.
Coding skills in SQL, VBA, or another programming language strongly preferred.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and capable of managing multiple projects in a dynamic trading environment.
