What Will You Do
- Assist the Chief Compliance Officer in ensuring Conyers’ Hong Kong and Singapore offices are compliant with their regulatory obligations, including those relating to anti-money laundering (AML), privacy, and risk management, and offer appropriate solutions to relevant issues;
- Ensure teams within the Hong Kong and Singapore offices remain informed of regulatory, legislative and best practice changes and their obligations under these changes;
- Facilitate risk identification, assessment and internal control evaluations and workshops;
- Assist with the delivery of staff training;
- Act as a point of contact for Risk and Compliance queries from managers, attorneys and their teams;
- Assist with managing relationships with the relevant regulators;
- Provide monthly compliance reports to the relevant groups to show monitoring and clearance of action items raised by reviews;
- Manage the successful delivery of Risk and Compliance projects, ensuring technical excellence and a practical/business driven approach. Support and lead on projects as assigned; and
- Work seamlessly with a global team of compliance and risk professionals.
What You’ll Need
- University degree, preferably in business, finance, law, accounting, or a related field;
- CAMS certification or other relevant professional body accreditation, or commitment to work towards obtaining certification;
- At least 10 years of regulatory and/or compliance experience, preferably in the legal, corporate services and trust services sectors;
- Sound understanding of regulatory trends and issues;
- Working knowledge of risk management concepts;
- Ability to work independently, think critically and make pragmatic decisions to support the business;
- Excellent research and organisational skills;
- Proven track record of delivering enhancements to process efficiency;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team;
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communicator; and
- Knowledge of offshore regulatory requirements is an asset.
