About the Role
This role will be responsible for all legal affairs arising from Gotion Singapore’s growing operations in the region. This will include a wide array of corporate, commercial, and compliance-related matters. He/She will provide direct support to business leaders, contributing to the expansion of legal and transactional support to Gotion Singapore’s energy storage and battery businesses in APAC region (exclude China market). Involved in commercial contracts spans group’s subsidiaries, overseas joint ventures (JV) partners and operating partners.
Responsibilities
(The main job responsibilities should include, but not be limited to)
- Draft, review and negotiate a host of documents, agreements and contracts (e.g. purchase agreements, MOUs, distribution agreements, NDAs, collaboration agreements, etc.).
- Develop and maintain standard contract templates.
- Provide legal guidance, identify legal risks and potential liabilities, and handle a wide range of corporate legal matters to support our business to trade lawfully.
- Provide high-quality legal advice and support on JV incorporation, vendor screenings,due diligence, and get involved in internal policy formulation.
- As needed, work closely with business leaderson special projects, deliver sound and practical legal advice, and offer strategic solutions to mitigate risks.
- Monitor and manage intellectual property issues, including trademarks and patents.
- Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
- LLB/LLM degree from a reputable University.
- 2-3 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) preferably in a law firm and/or in-house role with a reputable company.
- Meticulous and able to work independently and exercise sound legal judgement.
- Preferably being bilingual to be able to liaise with Chinese-speaking counterparts and legal team in China.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to prioritize tasks while complying with short turnaround cycles.
