WM Core Platform, Convergence & Transact Chief Product Owner

Job Summary

The role holder is part of Wealth Management Core Wealth Platform Hive MT and leads the Convergence Hive in its delivery of the Core Wealth Platform convergence roadmap.
Core Wealth Platform Hive is one of the 5 Agile Hives within the Wealth Domain with a vision to deliver state of the art platform that will enable WM to deliver a competitive advantage.
Core Platform Hive has 3 clusters within the current structure:
• Convergence Cluster: Achieve a converged core platform of T24 across client segments that will enable scale, speed to market and reduce total cost of ownership

• Capability Enhancements Cluster: Enable Business to improve user experience, increase productivity via STP and leveraging new capabilities.

• Core Services Cluster: Ensure a highly performant, resilient and compliant technology platform through removal of obsolescence; provide a stable BAU platform for Business with continuous enhancements.
The Convergence Chief Product Owner (CPO) is responsible for developing and delivering the OKRs for his / her cluster, as well as executing on the convergence strategy. The CPO works closely with Hive Lead, Technology Hive Lead and other CPOs as well as Technology partners to lead a team of ~6 to 7 Product Owners (POs), and 6 squads (~65 FTE) to deliver the T24 convergence agenda. The Convergence CPO is responsible for an annual hive budget of ~$12M which includes PO, Technology, Infrastructure related spend.

Key Responsibilities

• Accountable for architecting the Convergence & Transact Hive vision, individual squad's OKRs and execution of the vision
• Proactively communicate the vision/roadmap to squads and stakeholders
• Closely monitor the execution of deliveries, critical milestones and sign off leading to releases.
• Support and guide POs on prioritisation and empower them to make independent delivery decisions in alignment with relevant scorecard metrics
• Ensure stakeholder alignment in the Refinement Forum
• Facilitate removal of escalated blockers and impediments, including further escalation
• Management and active oversight of investment budget

Strategy
• Architect and refine the Wealth Management convergence roadmap balancing the business strategy, investment envelope and operational requirements for scalability
• Manage and track execution progress of approved initiatives to drive the Transformation agenda.
• Support execution of the Wealth Management business’ strategic direction and roadmap in alignment with investment appetite.
• Work with other WM Hive leads to ensure project deliveries are effectively implemented.

Business
• Role holder will be execution of the strategy and identifying opportunities for streamline the operational processes through automation, OPEX and other initiatives.
• Continuously improve productivity and efficiency of operations and drive standardisation agenda for WM Operations, maintaining rigorous cost and investment discipline across the business.
• Ensure appropriate and insightful data and analytics that can drive business decisions.
• Maintain strong stakeholder engagement with WM Business, COO/ Operations, T&I, Risk & Compliance and Group Internal Audit to ensure alignment across stakeholder groups to support the hive deliverables

Understanding the WM and Affluent process universe to appreciate the delivery risks to the processes impacted by the system changes

People & Talent
• Demonstrate and act as a role model of the Group’s values and culture in the region
• Lead and support a change in mindset, building a culture of client centricity, agility, and accountability through standardised metrics and measurement
• Set effective metrics and standards, transparently communicating them to squads
• Ensure squad capacity is reviewed to enable delivery of client outcomes.

Risk Management
• Risk control and governance: ensuring oversight and driving improvement in the control & resilience agenda.
• Understanding the end-to-end view across Wealth Management Operations environment to effectively identify, and escalate issues ahead of implementations
• Sharing themes / lessons learnt from other hive implementations either within other domains within CPBB or CCIB

Governance
• Attend key governance meetings and Agile project committees in line with the governance framework and monitor projects over their lifecycle.
• Develop Key Performance & Risk based metrics which enable Operations to demonstrate effective governance and oversight on processes, develop robust ORF (Operational Risk framework) for effective and smooth functioning of business and operations.

Regulatory & Business Conduct
• Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
• Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
• Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

· Hive Leads, Hive Tech Leads in Wealth and non Wealth domains across CPBB

· Senior Business stakeholders e.g. Country Management team, Regional Head, COO, Head of Ops etc

· CPOs/Cluster leads in Core Platform Hive

· Chief Product Owners, Product Owners in other WM Hives, Data & Digital Hives

· Product owners / Scrum masters/Squad members

· Functional Partners including Operations, T&I, Risk, Compliance, HR, Finance, Legal, Audit, etc.
