Since its inception in 2010, My Community has made its mark in the arts, cultural and heritage sectors. Its work has spurred the growth and development of a common-man approach to history where everyday experiences of Singaporeans are chronicled and celebrated.
Today, My Community’s core mission remains the same. The non-profit organisation works to capture and preserve community stories, reconnect people to places and social networks, and deepen heritage appreciation and expression across the country. It also advocates for greater community involvement in cultural management and urban governance processes.
My Community is supported by an army of 500 volunteers who work with a nimble team of staff to organise guided tours, exhibitions, festivals and other arts, heritage and placemaking programmes in Queenstown and beyond.
Job Description
- A passionate community organiser who is keen to work with the community and various stakeholders on inclusive and collaborative arts, culture and heritage programmes, tours and experiences.
- Conceptualise, research and work on My Community Festival and upcoming community-based programmes at Museum @ My Queenstown.
- Conceptualise, research and conduct physical and virtual guided tours for My Community.
- Conceptualise, research and co-curate cultural experiences and programmes
- Work with My Community's volunteers and stakeholders to develop and execute pSince its inception in 2010, My Community has made its mark in the arts, cultural and heritage sectors. Requirements
- Keen interest in interacting with the community (residents, shopkeepers, students, diverse stakeholders and partners) on arts, culture and heritage.
- Communicative, accountable, responsible and take initiative to interact with community stakeholders.
- A Master's or Bachelor's degree in History, Geography, Heritage Studies/Management, Cultural Management and Architecture
- At least 3 years' of work experience in the tourism or heritage sector
- Prior experience in Singapore arts and heritage-related projects, festivals events management or tour coordination
- Ability to speak and write in English and one of the national languages (Chinese, Malay or Tamil) fluently.
- A tourist guide license would be highly advantageous
- Able to work on Saturdays and Sundays.rogrammes
