Job Description:
Our client, a subsidiary of a foreign state-owned bank, is looking for a Senior Manager to join their Corporate Finance team. As the parent company's gateway to Asia Pacific region, the Company is responsible for sourcing deals through developing and enhancing the local business network, and supporting execution of relevant deals that are in line with the client's APAC strategy.
The position is mainly a client coverage role so that the candidate must have wide variety of understanding about different products including corporate loan, private placement, mezzanine financing, equity financing, structured financing, asset financing and fund investment etc. Business level of Japanese proficiency is required to work with counterparts in Japan and with Japanese speaking clients.
Key roles and responsibilities of Sr. Manager are including but not limited to the following:
- Overall deal process/task flow: Grasps deal process thoroughly and understand the company's debt/equity financing criteria for various deals and build credit/investment story independently; can share roles with senior for key areas of the process
- Sourcing: Originate transactions aligned with the bank's criteria on her/his own with initiative, effectively and aggressively; support from seniors may be necessary in some occasions but perform most of the origination activities independently.
- Material preparation: Effectively prepare entire credit and internal approval material and present well internally
- Documentation: Prepare all legal documents and effectively coordinate with lawyers on its own
- Negotiation/Coordination: Can negotiate terms effectively with initiative
- Administration: Conduct on her/his own all administrative tasks required (including folder management and internal approval)
- Knowledge: Has accumulated overall required knowledge (credit analysis, financial accounting, finance, accounting/tax, legal, settlement) and can find internal/external sources to acquire new knowledge
- Leadership: Has subordinates in project level: acts as team leader; lead juniors well
- Management: Attempt to aggressively acquire internal rules of the company and effectively manage team; supporting seniors when constructing the team's strategy with good understanding on direction of each industry and the company.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Law or related
- With more than seven years of work experience in corporate loan, private placement, mezzanine financing, equity financing, structured financing, asset financing fund investment, management consulting etc
- Business level of Japanese proficiency to work with counterparts in Japan and with Japanese speaking clients.
- Experience in multiple areas of products/sectors above are appreciated
- Various sector coverage experience is preferred.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people, demonstrating team spirit, accountability and integrity
- Ability to drive logical thought process in various tasks.
