Job Purpose
The successful candidate will be responsible for the Group financial closing and reporting activities.
The Job
1) To be responsible and support the team in the following Group closing and reporting activities:
a) Prepare and monitor Group closing timelines and activities;
b) Perform monthly closing of subsidiary accounts and reconciliations;
c) Prepare consolidation journal entries as well as prepare monthly consolidated financials;
d) Prepare financial schedules to support Group reporting;
e) Prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reporting pack to Head Office;
f) Address queries from Head Office with regards to the reporting pack.
2) To be part of the team to support and assist in the following reporting activities:-
a) Prepare audited financial statements and supporting schedules;
b) Liaise with external auditor for review and audit of financial statements;
c) Perform analysis of monthly financials.
3) To provide support and assistance in IFRS 17 Day 2 projects and assist in other ad-hoc projects or assignments as assigned.
4) Take accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
5) Maintain awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
6) Highlight any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.
Our Requirements
• Degree or diploma in Accountancy or ACCA or its equivalent.
• Preferably 1 – 2 years of relevant working experience. Candidates with experience in Big 4 audit firms and/or insurance accounting experience would have an added advantage.
• Able to work independently and under pressure to meet tight reporting deadlines. Working on weekends or public holidays to meet deadlines would be required.
• Highly motivated and committed.
• Good analytical and problem solving skills, meticulous and detailed.
• Strong team player with good communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork.
• Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes.
