The Unit Manager will oversee all activities related to buffet catering, pantry service, coffee bar and retail café. The candidate is responsible for overseeing all aspects of food & beverage operations. This includes managing a team, ensuring high-quality food service, maintaining client relationships, and achieving financial targets. The ideal candidate should have excellent leadership skills, a good understanding of the catering industry in a corporate setting, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities:
Operations Management
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the unit, ensuring efficient and smooth service
- Coordinate with catering team and service crew to ensure timely preparation and presentation of food
- Manage inventory, including ordering and stocking supplies as needed
- Maintain the meal collection system and ensure that guests follow the process
- Supervise all before/after photos of the buffet line/pantry of the respective WhatsApp group on a daily basis
- Monitor the food volume and track for food wastages
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Staff Management
- Train and supervise the team, including supervisor, barista, service cream and support staff
- Perform roll call daily prior to the operating hours
- Schedule the day-to-day operations and team roster
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and development opportunities
- Foster a positive and collaborative working environment
Client Relations
- Maintain and build relationships with guests to ensure repeat business and customer satisfaction
- Gather feedback from guests on food and dining experience
- Address and resolve any issues or complaints promptly and effectively
- Plan, coordinate and execute catering events, ensuring all client specifications are met
Financial Management
- Take responsibility for the business performance of the outlet, ensuring financial targets are met
- Monitor costs and implement cost-saving measures where possible
- Ensure pricing strategies are competitive and profitable
Administrative Management
- Work with the various stakeholders/department on any administrative matters
- Prepare reports as and when required
- Perform any other duties as requested by the Supervisor or Unit Manager
Requirements:
- Minimum Diploma in F&B service or equivalent
- Proficient in Microsoft Office - outlook, word, powerpoint and excel.
- Possess a minimum of at least 2 years working experience as a Manager or in a similar role in an F&B setting
- Service-oriented team player with excellent interpersonal skills and positive learning attitude
- Willing to be involved with a hands on attitude with good problem solving skills
- Be able to travel to other outlets as and when required
- Valid basic food and hygiene level 1 certificate, otherwise refresher course will be provided
