Senior Associate, Credit Documentation

Key Responsibilities

· Ensure credit documents received from Private Bank clients are fit for purpose and in compliance with Group Policy & Standards.

· Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless processing of the client’s credit application form.

· Identify risks / red flags in the documents received and highlight to senior management for assessment and reporting where required.

· Identify areas of improvement in the process and highlight to senior management for assessment.

· Ensure credit documentation reviews are conducted within acceptable timelines and service level agreements.

· Ensure clarifications are sought and cleared immediately with the line manager.

· Extend support in projects when required.

Strategy

· Awareness and alignment of the Private Bank segment’s goal for the next 2 years and how the role of Credit Documentation is linked to that goal.

Business

· Awareness of the business focus markets and documentation requirements for clients from different markets.

Processes

· In depth knowledge of Private Bank Credit documentation requirement, timelines and stakeholders involved in the documentation process.

People & Talent

· Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.

· Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of people and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks.

Risk Management

· Identify risks / red flags in the documents received and highlight to senior management for assessment and reporting where required.

Governance

· Awareness and understanding of outsourced activities from the Credit documentation team and the critical data points & key controls that need to be reviewed.

Regulatory & Business Conduct

· Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.

· Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

· Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Key stakeholders

· Relationship Managers/ Front Office

· Credit Risk & Loan Restructuring Team

· Internal & External lawyers & valuers

· Outsourced team -GBS India

Other Responsibilities

· Embed Here for good and Group’s brand and values in Singapore, Private Bank Operations.

· Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures when required.

Our Ideal Candidate

· 5+ years of experience in Credit Documentation in a Private Bank.

· Graduate Degree or Diploma in Banking/Finance with relevant credit experience.

· Strong knowledge on business focus markets and documentation requirements for clients.

· Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless processing of the client’s credit application form.

· Able to work independently and demonstrate resilience under pressure.

· Excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills.
