The main focus of this role is to ensure the accounting operating activities are conducted in high quality, on time, and in compliance with IFRS and local GAAP. The position plays a key role to drive for efficiency and excellences, via support of shared service center. This role is in charge to ensure the updates of accounting policies, internal control procedures and adherences.
Responsibilities
Daily operation and support
- To collaborate with GBS various processes and ensure activities are executed on time in good quality.
- To coordinate GBS STP/OTC activities with other departments for escalated matters, regarding invoices, payments, etc
- Conduct country-related treasury tasks such as local documentations, ad hoc payments.
- To coordinate annual inventory counting as well as other key activities such as fixed assets, RoU
Initiate, drive and support various finance projects
- A key contributor to drive various financial initiatives implementations in the country.
- To challenge status quo and initiate changes to minimize manual exercises for standardized best practices.
- To support ad hoc global projects and requests for local executions.
Compliances and Internal Control
- Expert in IFRS and local GAAP. To adhere to local GAAP for the statutory accounts in SG entities
- Main contact person with auditors {Internal/External). Work closely with auditors for audit reports & issues
- To ensure adherence to company accounting policies, accurate accruals postings and account schedules.
- Coordinates on legal matters and company secretary topics
Reporting
- Support month-end closing and ensure correct of financial reports
- Prepare Quarterly GST and Monthly Wtax
- Prepare statutory survey form and statistical returns
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or relevant economic majors. Chartered accountant is a plus
- Above 8 years working experience in areas of accounting and management information
- Hands-on skills and knowledge with SAP, and microsoft officeapplications
- Experiences in chemical multinational companies, and/or with shared service center, are strong plus
