Role Overview
This position is responsible for the successful initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closure of IT projects. This role involves managing project scope, timelines, budgets, resources, and communication to ensure that project objectives are met and delivered on time. The IT Project Manager coordinates the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards in project management.
Duties and Responsibilities
Project Planning and Management
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budgets
- Manage the entire project lifecycle, from initiation to closure, ensuring adherence to project management best practices.
Team Leadership and Collaboration
- Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams, including developers, analysts, designers, and QA testers
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among team members and stakeholders
- Resolve conflicts and remove obstacles that may impede project progress
Stakeholder Management
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders from various departments
- Provide regular project updates, status reports, and presentations to stakeholders
- Ensure stakeholders are informed of project progress, risks, and issues.
Risk Management
- Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Monitor and manage project risks, issues, and changes to ensure project success
- Conduct regular risk assessments and update risk management plans as needed
Quality Assurance
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and requirements
- Implement and oversee quality control processes and testing procedures
- Conduct post-project evaluations and identify areas for improvement
Resource Management
- Allocate and manage project resources, including personnel, equipment, and budget
- Monitor resource utilization and adjust allocations as necessary to meet project goals
- Ensure team members have the necessary tools and training to perform their tasks effectively
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, schedules, reports, and communication logs
- Prepare and present project documentation for audits and compliance reviews
- Ensure project documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible to team members and stakeholders
Requirements
Experience
- At least 5~10 years in project management with a track record of successful project delivery
Skills/Accreditations
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficiency with project management software and tools, such as MS Project, JIRA
- Highly Skilled in Business Cases, Data Analytics, sound knowledge of Business Process Management, and understanding of IT processes and systems
- Good business acumen, Agile, Action oriented and results driven
- Pays attention to details, and makes decision based on facts, figures and business cases
- High Standard of work delivery
- Self-awareness and Good work ethics
- Strong communication and interpersonal skill
Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field
Travel requirements
- 10 to 20%
