Position Overview
To oversee all finance activities affecting the entities within the region in scope and to comply with statutory and company policies and guidelines. To organize, forecast, plan and control the overall financial, accounting and tax activities. To be part of the region management, provide timely, accurate and relevant financial informationand act as a business partner.
Main key accountabilities
- Ensure relevant business performance reports are available to regional management with proper analysis for decision making (please note: some standard reports, such as sales statistics, are outsourced to Group functions; nevertheless, the responsibility to provide proper support remains with the RFM).
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly and annual closings according to Group specifications.
- Monitor balance sheet developments and ensure proper working capital management, incl. follow-ups with corrective actions if required
- Ensure tax compliance and optimization
- Ensure proper transfer pricing implementation in the region, if applicable.
- Ensure proper insurance coverage within the Region and its entities
- Lead the budgets & forecasts (if delegated by the Managing Director (MD): also Strategic Planning) according to GROUP standards in due time for business strategies
- Support Mergers & Acquisition (M&A) projects with focus on preparation/validation of business plan; valuation of assets; deal structure incl. tax optimization; financial Due Diligence (DD).
- Support F+C review meeting periodically with CFO/Managing Director to discuss executive summaries, to identify possible risks and suggest areas for improvement
- Review and ensure timely annual Group consolidation packages as requested for all entities under control for San Group Finance and external auditors
- Optimize cash balances, financing and foreign exchange (FX) exposure in cooperation with Group Treasury
- Carry out and optimize internal financial control through local policies to ensure the integrity & propriety of financial transactions and compliance with country and GROUP regulation.
- Lead financial projects to support the business growth, cooperate with related function departments and implement the projects after approval of the Managing Director
- Establish a system and culture of internal control to ensure accuracy of financial data and safeguarding of company assets as well as compliance with all statutory requirements (e.g., business registrations etc.)
- Supervise and direct the activity of the respective personnel and their development and to create a high performing team
- Ensure record retention rules for the region for the area of responsibility are established. Ensure proper care when executing documents as a signatory
Qualifications needed
- At least 3 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Ability to motivate and work collaboratively with business partners, key team members, senior management and client groups on various projects and initiatives
- Ability to handle and manage multiple projects and work streams
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to partner with cross-functional finance and operations team
- Ability to work effectively in a global organization with matric reporting lines
- Ability to understand the business fast enough such as in commercial, cost structure, infrastructure investment
- Able to plan and coordinate effectively and manage expectations to achieve expected results
