Assistant Manager, Security & Safety

Job Description

  • Lead and manage a team of in-house and agency security officers in daily operations and to ensure all fire safety regulations and security plan are complied with.
  • Ensure all SOPs are in place and carried out accordingly.
  • Review of overall division Risk Assessment Safe Work Procedures & Work Instructions& ensure that it aligns with the latest legislations / Singapore Standards / Codes of Practices if applicable.
  • Continuously educate security representatives to build a highly determined, motivated and professional staff team.
  • Lead a team of security officers, and will be responsible for the formulation, implementation and review of effective security / workplace safety / fire safety and policies to ensure a safe environment for both our guests and our staff.
  • Evaluate and update methodology for risk assessment implemented at and monitoring the operating environment to identify potential risks for intervention efforts.
  • Manage the implementation of strategies and plans for inspections, audits, incidents investigations and staff training to enhance safety.
  • Manage department affairs and consistently promote professionalism to sustain a high standard of proficiency.
  • Develop and manage emergency and crisis management.
  • Conduct threat risk assessment and prepare the threat counter measures necessary in accordance to the national or organisation threat risk assessment.
  • Develop and continuously reinforce Standard Operating Procedure for the department in line with the organisation standard.
  • Actively manage operational plans in line with company business requirements and advices the business interests & future business potential of the organisation.
  • Provide comprehensive coverage for VVIP.
  • Provide Event Security Coverage – temporary deployment of manpower to cater for:
  1. In-house and visiting Heads of State and Dignitaries;
  2. Special functions organised by the organisation.
  • Coordinate an Investigation and report timely with appropriate recommendation into:
  1. Criminal acts;
  2. Losses and damages;
  3. Accidents to lives and properties;
  4. Staff misdemeanours.
  • Ensure that the Sub-Contractors and their staffs abides the WSH set by Ministry of Manpower (WSH Council) and also ensure that all their Staffs working within the sire must have a valid work permit.
  • Mortuary Service
  1. Oversee the Mortuary office and the body/parts storage facilities.
  2. Ensure the availability of Death Registration Service.
  3. Liaison with the relevant ministry in establishing process and controls at Mortuary (e.g. RBD, NEA, MOH).

Job Requirements

  • Degree / Diploma in Administration / Security Management or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 - 3 years of experience in a similar capacity, preferably from a Police background environment.
  • At least 3 years experience in a supervisory capacity overseeing workplace safety, fire safety and security services.
  • Knowledge and experience in workplace safety & health, fire safety and security regulations and practices.
  • Well versed in all fire and workplace safety & health aspects of buildings.
  • Strong analytical abilities particularly with regards to policy and planning, as well as people and capability development.
  • Excellent organisation skill.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to lead a team towards a common goal.
