Building Drafter Responsibilities & Duties
- Create detailed architectural, electrical, and mechanical drawings for building projects
- Describe production methods step-by-step (including equipment and software types to be used)
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure accuracy and consistency in all drawings
- Update and maintain all project files, including drawings and specifications
- Assist in project site visits and measurement taking as needed
- Maintain strict adherence to building codes and standards
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technology advancements in drafting and design
- Identify potential operational issues and redesign products to improve functionality
Building Drafter Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Building Drafter
- Expertise in AutoCAD, Revit, and other drafting software programs
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce error-free drawings
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Hands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software
