- As a technical expert in a fast paced environment, providing direction to peers
- Overall responsible for planning, directing and coordinating activities pertaining to the day-to-day support of the data centers.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams including facilities management team, project team, IT operations team, engineers, contractors to ensure data centre meets business requirements and industry standards.
- Lead a team of data centre operators, both outsourced and insourced, ensuring smooth operations.
- Resolve operational issues promptly, adhering to established SLAs.
- Planning, installation and support of the company’s physical computer infrastructure (hardware, systems software, networks, and backup systems)
- Troubleshoot issues within the data center and physical infrastructure
- Manage and support change and release processes for physical environments
- Provide cost and design proposals and liaise with vendors
- Develop the Disaster Recovery (DR) procedures aligned with IT DR solutions.
- Lead on the application, network, and system readiness for migration.
- Detail migration efforts and specifics for each project.
- Document and obtain approval for migration plans, including backup and recovery strategies.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
- Min 10 years of experience in data centre engineering and operations.
- Min 8 years of experience in planning, setting up a new data centre facility.
- Proficiency in managing enterprise data centre environments and resolving related issues.
- Experience in planning, overseeing, and designing of data centre across multiple sites or regions.
- Experience in setting up, managing, and planning of HVAC systems, power supply, UPS, and temperature control mechanisms in the data centre.
