Responsibilities:
- Minimize the time gap between contract fulfillment and cash receipt into the bank account.
- Conduct credit checks to assess risks and set credit terms.
- Follow up promptly on disputes or customer issues with internal staff to avoid payment delays, seeking managerial assistance if needed.
- Keep all accounts and records up-to-date, ensuring proper allocation of cash and credits.
- Approve, set, and monitor customer credit limits based on credit agency information and in collaboration with group credit control.
- Post and allocate customer receipts to the relevant accounts and collect receipts as necessary.
- Provide sales teams with information to ensure awareness of credit limits and ensure no goods are sent or services performed without proper credit authorization.
- Liaise with salespeople and other sources to stay informed about industry developments and mitigate risks proactively.
- Issue customer statements and reminder letters when applicable.
- Maintain up-to-date customer CRM records in compliance with company policy and Data Protection Act (DPA).
- Provide necessary reporting information to local management or group, including aged debtors reports and Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) days, with commentary where required.
- Review and update credit control policies and procedures as the business evolves, ensuring adherence to existing policies.
- Perform other ad hoc duties and reporting related to the credit control function and local finance and administration requirements.
Requirements:
- Diploma / Degree in accounting with 3 years of relevant work experience
- Working knowledge of VAT or equivalent and experience of chasing international debts would be preferred.
