Job Purpose:
The Senior Solutions Engineer is responsible for driving the technical strategy for new business. This is a multifaceted role that requires the ability to ramp up quickly on new technologies. This role will provide the opportunity to interact with prospective clients’ engineers IT Leaders to solve complex technical issues. The Senior Solutions Engineer assists the sales team by managing the technical portion of the prospecting and provisioning stages. This role encompasses product demonstrations, customer training, and technical integrations.
Essential Functions:
- Sell the value of Edgio Applications Platform
- Win the trust of web developers, DevOps engineers, and IT executives.
- Be the expert that articulates the organization's powerful offerings and capabilities.
- Interact directly with prospective buyers to provide technical clarity on the value of the products and represent the technical expertise of the product team.
- Provide feedback to product, engineering, and marketing teams.
- Be relentless about standardizing the solutions engineering process by turning every one-to-one interaction into reusable, one-to-many materials that help others at the organization (e.g., internal and external slides, one-pagers, videos, documentation, PoCs, objection handling docs).
- Work closely with prospect’s IT teams and compel them to use the product during the evaluation phase.
- Design, document, and guide implementations of solutions
- Be the thought leader providing guidance to product development and mentoring to the sales organization.
Experience and Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of enterprise software selling experience to IT.
- Web development experience.
- JavaScript Engineering Experience with NodeJS, React, Vue, Angular is highly desired.
- Experience with Cloud platforms like Netlify and Vercel preferred.
- Front End Performance Optimization Engineering experience using the following:
- Chrome DevTools
- Weppagetest.org
- Lighthouse
- SpeedCurve
- Experience with Edge Caching / CDNs
- Ecommerce experience

- Confidence in one’s ability to learn fast as the role will be interacting with high-level stakeholders on a daily basis.
