Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for sourcing and investing in web3 startups globally, having led several deals in AI industry segment
- Analyze market trends, economic conditions, and industry developments.
- Conduct AI sector and company-specific research.
- Evaluate financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Analyze historical data and financial performance to forecast future performance.
- Utilize various valuation methods such as discounted cash flow (DCF), comparable company analysis, and precedent transactions.
- Assess the intrinsic value of stocks, bonds, and other securities.
- Prepare detailed research reports, investment recommendations, and market outlooks.
- Present findings to investment committees, portfolio managers, or clients.
- Gather data from financial databases, annual reports, company filings, and other reliable sources.
- Maintain and update financial models and databases.
- Identify potential risks and opportunities related to investments.
- Evaluate the impact of economic events on investments.
- Communicate with clients to understand their investment needs and provide tailored recommendations.
- Address client queries and provide ongoing support.
- Work closely with portfolio managers, traders, and other analysts.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to investment strategy discussions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field. A Master's degree or MBA is preferred.
- Experience: 2-5 years of experience in investment research, financial analysis, or a related field.
- Experience in sourcing and investing in web3 startups, globally.
- Experience in building up strong network with industry leaders & founders & investors by attending global conference, sharing insights and dealflow
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Proficiency in financial modelling and valuation techniques
- Ability to interpret complex financial data and market trends.
- Proficiency in financial software and databases (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters, FactSet).
- Ensuring accuracy in analysis and reporting.
- Evaluating information critically to make informed decisions.
- Identifying issues and proposing effective solutions.
- Business level Mandarin speaking is required as the candidate will be required to liaise with Mandarin stakeholders, vendors and counterparts on daily basis.
- Certifications: CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designation or progress toward certification is highly desirable.
