Our client is a leading reinsurance company with a global presence. They are seeking an experienced Senior Treaty Underwriter to join their team based in Singapore. This role will be responsible for leading treaty underwriting activities across the region, focusing on property and engineering treaties. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in treaty underwriting, pricing and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute underwriting strategies for propertytreaty in the region, ensuring alignment with business objectives and risk appetite.
- Engage actively with brokers and clients to understand their needs, negotiate terms, and develop strong business relationships.
- Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory developments to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Lead treaty pricing and structuring efforts, incorporating catastrophe risk modeling and other analytical tools to optimize pricing decisions.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders such as actuaries, claims specialists, and finance teams to ensure comprehensive risk assessment and management.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior underwriters, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
Requirements:
- Significant experience (minimum 10 years) in treaty underwriting within the reinsurance industry, with a strong focus on property treaty.
- Proven expertise in treaty pricing and/or catastrophe pricing, with a deep understanding of risk assessment methodologies.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence and build partnerships with brokers and clients.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in risk modeling tools and data analysis techniques.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex underwriting concepts clearly and effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Finance, Business, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., ACII, FCAS) preferred.
