Job Description
- Handling, reviewing, drafting and assisting execution of contracts for:
a. Sales and Purchase of natural resources such as LNG;
b. Derivative transaction based on ISDA;
c. Time Charter Party for LNG Ship; and
d. any related matters thereof. - Preparing the invoice in timely manner regarding the above transaction.
- Preparing the KYC documents based on the requests from counterparties.
- Handle a fair amount of administrative tasks and incidental documentation matters necessary to comply with corporate policy, execute each transaction(s) to ensure all contractual obligations are met and implemented; and support in the commercial and administrative aspects of our trading business, and keep internal control by our Management, while understanding it as part of a key duty for the role.
- Assisting legal works of Superior including but not limited to developing and proposing legal strategies and solutions through research, and providing contractual and commercial guidance on contracts to members in other departments.
- Supporting, collaborating, supervising and coordinating legal work sent to external law firms.
- Understand the risks around energy trading transactions including market risk, credit risk, operational risk etc.
- Any other ad-hoc assignments as assigned by Superior
Job Requirement
- Diploma in law, legal studies, or relevant area. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area is preferred.
- At least 1-2 years’ working experience supporting legal matters and/or contracts administration
- Experience handling contract reviews, drafting and negotiation, especially for contracts.
- Experience in handling contracts and documentations for trading, sales and purchase of commodities and transactions of international commodities (eg. oil, gas, LNG, etc) for at least 1-2 years in the LNG or oil and gas markets is highly preferred.
- Willing to handle administrative work and understands the need to take care of inevitable administrative tasks regardless of qualification, expertise or position
- Excellent written and spoken English. Proficiency in Japanese is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong drafting, negotiation and legal analytical skills.
- Sophisticated communication and work in a cross-functional team to achieve common goals.
- Capable to identify and escalate issues timely and appropriately, and to prioritize and respond to business needs and goals; Sense of urgency, time priority and accountability.
- Ability to develop process driven solutions to recurring issues is advantageous.
- Adept at calculations and meticulous.
