Job Description - General Manager
The Singapore Floorball Association (SFA) is a National Sport Association (NSA) formed in 1995. SFA is govern by a Management Board, affiliated to Sport Singapore (SportSG), Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC), and a member of the International Floorball Federation (IFF).
As an association, SFA strive to develop and encourage the sport of floorball in Singapore by providing opportunities to Singaporeans play floorball regardless of age. At the international arena, SFA plays a pivotal role in the promotion floorball through the organisation and participation in key events such as World Floorball Championship, SEA Games.
SFA is looking for a dynamic individual to fill the position of the General Manager. This is a full-time position and this position reports directly to SFA management board.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Strategic
1. Develop plans to promote and sustain floorball in Singapore and review plans with the SFA Board.
2. Prepare budget for operations of SFA, in consultation with Sport Singapore.
3. Provide secretarial services to the SFA Board, eg distribution of Board papers for Board meetings, taking minutes of the Board meetings.
Administration
1. Identify the needs of SFA and provide guidance to strengthen the effectiveness and capabilitiesof the SFA.
2. Monitor revenue and expenses associated with budgets.
3. Ensure that accounting practices and cash management of the SFA and their sub-commiteea conform to the Financial Rules and Regulations.
4. Ensure that Office administration is efficient and effective.
5. Prepare all necessary reporting documents pertaining to the management of an NSA for SportSG, ROS, Charities (IPC) etc.
Events and Marketing
1. Supervise the planning and implementation of initiatives to strengthen communication and engagement with stakeholders.
2. Co-ordinate the planning, organization, andd management of Floorball Leagues competition.
Partnership
1. Administer/manage SFA data base of members and increase membership base.
2. To collaborate and maintain good relationship with International Floorball Federation (IFF) to develop the sport locally and be the link to collaboration with other countries in the Southeast Asia region.
Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree in business or sports management preferred.
2. Proactive nature and strong work ethic.
3. Demonstrated knowledge in planning and strong organizational skills.
4. Advanced proficiency with MS Office and good IT skills.
5. Excellent interpersonal skills to engatge effectively with stakeholders.
6. Minimum 8 years of working experience, with at least 3 years in supervisory roles.
7. Passion for sports and working with athletes.
