Job Summary
Through curriculum design and training of volunteer mentors, you will play a vital role in helping children from disadvantaged families gain access to educational opportunities and experiences that activate and develop their potential, give them a sense of self-worth and elevate their aspirations.
You will conceptualise, design and implement evidence-based educational and learning approaches for children from disadvantaged backgrounds – for pre-schoolers, children and teenagers (ages 5-14). You will monitor and evaluate the outcomes and impact to ensure effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
1. Children's Learning & Development/ Curriculum Design
- Drive client-centric innovation and adaptation to reduce learning gaps and environmental barriers, from a young age for children in the community
- Design, or source & adapt curriculum aligned to service values, vision and mission, in the areas of literacy, numeracy, character values and social-emotional skills
- Monitor and measure impact of programme outcomes
- Oversee learning/ curriculum-related processes and excellence
- Engage with relevant research and advocacy
2. Volunteers' Training & Development
- Train and develop volunteers in programme implementation
- Establish systems, structures and processes for consistent and effective curriculum delivery, and feedback.
3. Partnerships Management
- Develop meaningful partnerships with funders, external providers, student and corporate groups in areas of learning and enrichment
- Build strategic or long-term relationships to facilitate social change and transformation
4. Other
- Support social workers in crises or case follow-up where needed.
- Support general administration and coordination, pertaining to data reporting, events/ outings etc.
Working Conditions
- 5-day work week: Tue-Sat, 9am-6pm

Requirements
- Preferably a Masters degree in Education and/ or past MOE-based teaching and curriculum design experience in the primary school age range
- 5 years or more of related work experience
- Knowledge of cognitive, affective and 21st CC theories/ frameworks is a plus
- Past work or research in the area of learner motivation is a plus
- Comfortable to engage with children and caregivers
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Self-starter & disciplined, able to contribute and influence independently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Adept at Microsoft Office
