Major duties/responsibilities
• Review Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), Quality Plans, Work Instructions, Method Statements and various
QA/QC procedures submitted by contractors and/or subcontractors.
• Review and approval of Welding Procedure Specification (WPS), Procedure Qualification Record (PQR) and
Welder Qualification records.
• Witness Welding Procedure Qualification (WPQ) and welder qualification conducted at fabrication yard.
• Coordinate with the site construction manager on all quality issues.
• Ensure that all the procedures and work instructions are effectively implemented during fabrication.
• Ensure field works relating to mechanical completion activities such as erection of tanks and pipelines meet
quality guidelines (e.g. design drawings, relevant industry codes and standards (e.g. API 570, 510 and 653)
and corporate technical specifications.
• Monitor and witness QA/QC activities of Contractor and his Subcontractors during construction.
• Report any non-conformance (NC) and issue corrective action request (CAR) where necessary. Monitor nonconformances and ensure timely corrective action is taken and close the NCR.
• Participate in critical quality control/inspection activities at the fabrication yard during construction.
• Monitor and review Non-Destructive Test (NDT) (MT, UT & PT), quality inspection reports, piping and/or
equipment test packs from external providers and perform results verification.
• Ensure that all activities / outstanding punch points regarding quality are completed satisfactorily prior to
hydrotest or for processing to further activities.
• Follow up and verify all quality control documentation for As-built submission.
• Any other ad-hoc tasks assigned by the Engineering Manager or Project/Construction Manager.
Skills/Knowledge:
• Minimum 8-10 years of site experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) for oil and gas
construction projects.
• Strong experience in welding, fabrication techniques NDT, blasting/painting of petrochemical units (pipelines,
tanks)
• Proficiency with Microsoft office (MS Excel, MS Word)
• Independent individual who can work under pressure, integrate and participate well in a diversified team
environment, attention to details, positive attitude, can multi task, good communication and coordination skills
• English both written and verbal is a must. Able to communicate in other language is a plus.
• Class 3 manual driving license
