SENIOR MANAGER, FACILITIES MANAGEMENT

The Facilities Management team is responsible for ensuring that our buildings and facilities support the empowerment and inclusion of our users. To this end, the team ensures that our building and facilities are accessible, safe and in working order, while also ensuring that the needs of our occupants are met.


The Senior Manager of Facilities Management is responsible for the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of the physical infrastructure of RC campuses, ensuring a safe, clean, and supportive environment for service users, staff, and visitors. The Senior Manager of Facilities Management collaborates closely with school and centre administration, staff, and external vendors to optimize facility operations and meet the unique requirements of an educational institution and social service agency.


Critical Work Functions


Facilities Planning and Development

  • Work closely with Head to oversee the estate management under Rainbow Centre and ensure the overall smooth running of the facilities and operations
  • Develop comprehensive policies and work processes for all aspects of facilities, estate and operation management across Rainbow Centre that identify and correct facility deficiencies and needs through periodic review of existing systems and system components
  • Develop, review and maintain security and safety policies and procedures for all Rainbow Centre premises and properties

Facility Operations and Maintenance

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the facilities, including classrooms, therapy rooms, sensory rooms,, recreational areas, and other spaces.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules, procedures, and protocols to ensure the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of all facilities.
  • Ensure the coordination of repairs, renovations, and upgrades to facilities, working closely with external vendors and contractors.

Resource Management and Reporting for Service Improvement

  • Assist Head in preparing the facilities management budget, including forecasting expenditures, monitoring costs, and optimizing resource allocation.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative funding sources to support facility improvements and upgrades.
  • Collaborate with school/centre administration to prioritize facility-related projects and initiatives based on available resources and strategic goals.

Team Management and Leadership

  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate facilities management staff, ensuring a high level of competency and professionalism.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork among facilities management staff and other school personnel.
  • Provide guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to enhance the skills and knowledge of the facilities management team.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Estate / Facility Management with at least 8 years’ relevant experience and proven ability to lead a team
  • Those certified as a Fire Safety manager/officer/safety supervisor will have definite advantage
