Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement of materials, focusing on sourcing strategies and supplier relationships to ensure the highest quality and cost-efficiency. This incumbent requires to travel to India frequently.
Job Responsibilities:
Sourcing and Supplier Management:
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for materials procurement.
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve the best value.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.
Procurement Operations
- Manage the procurement process, including requisition, purchase order creation, and order tracking.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to meet production schedules.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to optimize costs and reduce waste.
Quality and Compliance
- Ensure all procured materials meet company quality standards and specifications.
- Work closely with the quality assurance team to resolve any issues with suppliers.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Cost Management
- Develop and manage the procurement budget.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives and strategies to reduce procurement expenses.
- Conduct regular market analysis to stay informed of industry trends and pricing.
Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and finance, to align procurement activities with business goals.
- Provide guidance and support to junior procurement staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on materials sourcing.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful sourcing strategies.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to procurement.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the manufacturing or production industry.
- Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPM, CPSM).
