Our Client
Our client is a well-established real estate investment company where the business primarily comprises finite-life funds that own assets in traditional real estate sectors, including office, retail, and hospitality. In view of internal reorganisation, they are looking for a contract Finance Manager for 6 months to handle the monthly group reporting and review of daily accounting operations during the transition period.
The Role
This role reports to Finance Dierctor with the following responsibilities:
- Review of monthly accounts prepared by the team to ensure timely closing of monthly accounts within the stipulated timeline;
- Review of monthly routine operational matters including but not limited to payment vouchers, cheques/TT payments, and invoices and ensure they are prepared in accordance with the Group's policies;
- Review of periodic regulatory reports (e.g. SFC / CMS) and ensure statutory compliance;
- Responsible for statutory adherence of audit related matters including but not limited to liaising with auditors to clear queries or potential audit issues, finalisation of Group accounting policies, preparation / review of draft audited financial statements of the respective individual companies, reviewing of XBRL filings, Annual Returns and AGM documents to facilitate filing to the relevant authorities;
- Responsible for statutory adherence of tax related matters including but not limited to timely review and submission of GST/VAT returns and corporate tax matters;
- Managing and reviewing subsidiaries’ Projections and Budgets to facilitate timely completion of the Group’s annual Budget and Projections;
- To perform company secretarial /compliance matters including coordination with the Group’s legal department on resolutions, furnishing of CRS / FATCA / KYC documents/ information / forms as required by banks, financial institutions, regulators and service providers; opening of bank accounts for operational purposes or change of mandate when needed;
- Participate actively in the Group’s digitalisation initiatives such as implementation of Group consolidation software; and
- To perform administrator duties for accounting system including creation of new GL codes / vendors / customers / entities / asset codes / cost centres etc, following up of issues encountered by users and scheduling monthly maintenance with vendor.
- Provide support to Group Finance’s projects relating to acquisitions and disposals, debt/ equity raisings etc.
Your Profile
- Good Degree in Accountancy or ACCA, CA Singapore (or its equivalent) with prior audit background preferred.
- Minimum 6-7 years of relevant working experience preferably in listed companies with firm knowledge of group consolidation and quarterly reporting. Prior experience in fund management industry preferred.
- Analytical and meticulous, with ability to build and manipulate financial models in spreadsheet, as well as producing management reports.
- Good writing and interpersonal skills in managing people and engaging of internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work cross culturally with people of diverse background ie nationality, race and religion.
- Resourceful and independent, with results driven attitude in undertaking various assignments under tight timelines.
- Knowledge of accounting systems such as SAP will be advantageous.
Note: This role may have conversion opportunity to permanent position, subject to reorganisation and internal movements.
