We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel with expertise in the oil and gas industry. The ideal candidate will manage the company's legal affairs comprehensively, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while supporting business objectives.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Legal & Compliance Department at headquarters to ensure alignment and consistency in legal strategies.
- Draft, review, and manage documents including sales & purchase contracts.
- Resolve legal disputes with counterparties through effective negotiation and mediation.
- Develop policies and strategies to mitigate legal risks and enhance compliance across operations.
- Manage local legal disputes, representing the company’s interests and ensuring swift resolutions.
- Supervise the registration and audit processes for transaction counterparts to uphold regulatory compliance.
- Offer expert advice on laws and regulations impacting the company’s operational activities.
- Stay informed on legal and regulatory developments in Singapore and the oil and gas industry.
- Support corporate governance initiatives and actions to maintain ethical standards and compliance.
- Conduct legal training sessions to enhance awareness and understanding across the organization.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management to support organizational goals and objective
Ideal Candidate:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience within Oil & Gas Industry, preferably from a trading house.
- Singapore or China bar qualified, or common law qualified lawyer
- Proficient in commercial law and adept in negotiating contracts.
- Fluent in both English and Mandarin, facilitating effective collaboration with Chinese-speaking stakeholders.
- Capable of thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment.
- Possesses strong analytical, communication, and drafting skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
