The Role
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for plant development and implementation projects. This position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in plant operations, project management and team leadership.
As a Project Director at Apeiron Bioenergy, your role involves building, optimising plant operations, overseeing projects, ensuring safety and environmental compliance, and offering technical guidance to improve operational efficiency.
This role might be based on-site in Singapore or remotely in Malaysia.
Role Summary
Plant Operations Management
- Oversees and optimise day-to-day plant operations to ensure efficiency, productivity, and quality standards are met.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance plant performance.
Project Management
- Lead and manage new projects implementation from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
- Develop project plans, allocate resources, and coordinate activities to achieve project goals.
- Lead plant configuration and installation/modification in existing processing sites across Asia.
- Assist in various work packages tendering and award, construction management, and any other relevant project works.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
Technical Leadership
- Provide technical expertise for complex engineering challenges.
- Stay updated with industry trends to recommend improvements.
- Manage project developments, engineering, procurement and commissioning.
- Review process plant systems, focusing on safety and efficiency.
- Control project schedule and budget to meet commissioning deadlines.
- Collaborate across teams for innovation in commodities extraction and refining.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure plant operations comply with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to create a secure working environment for all plant personnel.
- Work with the safety and health department to ensure implementation and compliance with SSHE requirements.
- Act as company representative for liaison and dealing with relevant authorities and agencies to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
- Drive to regulate and standardise all SOPs.
Others
- Perform any ad-hoc duties as assigned by MD.
The Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering or related fields.
- Minimum 5 years in managing biodiesel or renewable projects.
- Expert in biodiesel production processes with at least 3 successful completed projects.
- Familiar with the process of getting all relevant permits for construction of the land.
- Proven success in complex oil/feedstock industry projects.
- Possess strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, including presenting to the senior management and external stakeholders.
