Main job description

1. Trust & Estate Planning

  • Assess Client Needs: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of clients' financial situations, personal goals, and family dynamics to enhance wealth planning.
  • Implement Estate Planning Strategies: Develop and execute estate planning strategies tailored to clients' needs, ensuring legal and tax efficiency.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with legal and tax professionals to ensure the proper execution of estate plans.
  • Ongoing Review: Regularly review and update estate plans to reflect changes in clients' circumstances or relevant laws.

2. Philanthropy

  • Philanthropic Guidance: Provide strategic advice on charitable giving, aligning with clients' values and goals.
  • Network Connection: Connect clients with suitable nonprofits, foundations, and social service organizations within the bank’s network.
  • Charitable Vehicles: Assist in setting up and managing donor-advised funds, private foundations, and other charitable entities.
  • Impact Evaluation: Develop metrics to assess and report on the impact of clients' philanthropic efforts.

3. Family Governance

  • Governance Structures: Create and implement family governance frameworks, including formal policies and procedures.
  • Family Meetings: Organize and facilitate family meetings to discuss governance, financial education, and succession planning.
  • Education: Provide training and resources to help family members understand their governance roles and responsibilities.
  • Governance Bodies: Establish and define roles for family councils or boards.

4. Wealth Planning and Strategies

  • Wealth Management: Design personalized investment and wealth management strategies based on clients' goals, risk tolerance, and time horizons.
  • International Tax Planning: Provide guidance on tax-efficient structures and compliance for cross-border assets.
  • Global Coordination: Manage relationships with international financial institutions and advisors.
  • Strategy Monitoring: Continuously monitor global markets and regulatory changes, adjusting strategies as needed.

5. Family Office Services

  • Family Office Design: Assist clients in creating and structuring family office strategies tailored to their needs.
  • Investment Management: Offer bespoke investment management services and exclusive investment opportunities.
  • Credit Services: Advise on and facilitate tailored credit solutions, including specialized lending.
  • Exclusive Events: Organize and host exclusive events, such as investment seminars and networking opportunities.
  • Administrative Support: Provide a range of administrative and concierge services to support clients' lifestyle needs.

Other job requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years in the banking or accounting industry, with over 5 years specializing in advising high-net-worth clients on legacy planning, family office management, and wealth distribution strategies, particularly in Taiwan or Singapore.
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in auditing financial statements for publicly listed companies in Taiwan, preferably with a Big Four Accounting Firm.
  • Over 9-10 years of experience as a Wealth Planning Team Leader in the banking sector.
  • Prior experience as the Head of a Trust Business Department, including leading a team of more than 30 professionals.
  • Comprehensive understanding of rules and regulations across various Asian jurisdictions, with a particular focus on Taiwan and Singapore.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in both English and Chinese for direct email correspondence and periodic reports for international branches and headquarters in Taiwan.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks simultaneously and effectively handling escalations to drive resolutions.

Top 3 requirements that candidates must possess

  • Language proficiency in reading, writing and communicating
  • Having prior experience as the Head of a Trust Business Department, including leading a team of more than 30 professionals.
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in auditing financial statements for publicly listed companies in Taiwan, preferably with a Big Four Accounting Firm.

Additional request(s)

  • CPA, CFP, Family Trust Planning Consultant, or Eldercare Financial Planning Consultant.
  • Candidates with past wealth planning experiences in Taiwan will have an advantage.
