Function and Responsibilities

The role holder will act as the first line of defense within the branch to drive the implementation of business and regulatory risk compliance-related initiatives, ensuring policies and procedures are in place to support business functions and meet regulatory and Group’s requirements. The role holder will also be responsible for leading and implementing business initiatives and projects.

The role holder must maintain a delicate balance between fulfilling compliance regulations and supporting the business. He/she will liaise with stakeholders and counterparts at our head office and other counterparts in the Hang Seng/HSBC Group on business risk compliance and project execution, and to ensure that implementation meets Group’s and regulators’ timelines and standards.


Principal Accountabilities

· Perform gap analysis on regulators’ and Group’s notices/requirements, read across on Group’s audit/assurance issues and findings. Develop actions on identified gaps and follow up on action completion.

· Provide guidance to line of business on policy/procedure interpretation through working and soliciting inputs from various parties such as Compliance, Group’s policy team and headoffice teams.

· Prepare procedural manual for implementing new products, policy changes or system changes, and conduct regular reviews of procedures.

· Organize and provide trainings on new policy/procedure/initiative rollout as required.

· Support audit and assurance reviews from regulators, Auditors and Group Assurance teams.

· Co-ordinate and manage projects for the business.

Requirements

· University graduate in business administration, banking & finance or related disciplines.

· Minimum 8 years of work experience in the corporate banking sector, preferably in business policy compliance, business & regulatory risk management, or project management areas.

· Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, with excellence in project and time management.

· Great sense of ownership and clear mindset to ensure efficient and effective processes.

· Strong problem solving and negotiation skills, plus ability to work under pressure and independently.
