The Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore invites applications for the position of Research Fellow.
The Research Fellow shall have the ability to carry out state-of-the-art research in waste bioresource management and biorefinery technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute research projects including study design, data collection and analysis, and liaison with collaborators.
- Prepare research deliverables including writing progress/final report, drafting and reviewing manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals, crafting posters/abstracts/presentation slides for local and/or international conferences,
- Contribute to writing of research grant proposals including literature searches, obtaining preliminary data
- Administrative duties, assisting with preparation of documents for IRB, research progress reports, purchase of materials/equipment for research, etc.
- To manage day to day operations and meticulous record keeping of the research project
- Participating in research seminars and regular team meetings and discussions which may involve internal and external stakeholders
- Guiding and coaching junior team members, including teaching graduate students. In addition, the selected candidate will undertake ad-hoc assignments or projects where required, as assigned by the Centre Director.
- Other ad-hoc duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- PhD degree in Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Bioprocess Engineering or a related field from renowned universities
- Communication skills to work as a member of the team and sufficient discussion with the Principal Investigator
- Good record of publications and/or IPs
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to develop and manage R&D projects with good understanding of industrial needs
- Possess excellent communication skills with a good command of the English language to perform literature reviews, and create visual infographics for presentations
- Good administration skills, including data management and storage
- Experience with relevant software (Microsoft, Adobe, SPSS, etc.)
- Excellent organizational skills and able to work within given deadlines
- Able to work independently in self-directed manner
