The School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering (MAE) invites applications for the position of Project Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work on a project to develop novel microfluidics, organ-on-chip and impedance biosensors
- Perform research related to extracellular vesicles and stem cell differentiation
- Perform in vitro drug testing using microfluidics and in-vitro assays
- Fabrication and validation of microfluidic devices using cell lines
- Supporting general laboratory administration duties (equipment maintenance, housekeeping and procurement).
Job Requirements:
- A Bachelor degree n in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering or a relevant biological or engineering discipline.
- Experiences in microfluidics and impedance biosensors
- Experiences in microfabrication, programming and engineering drawing (e.g. AutoCAD)
- Experiences in basic cell and molecular biology techniques (mammalian cell culture and ELISA), microscopy and flow cytometry
- Experiences in stem cell research and clinical studies is an advantage
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English as required for research work
- Publication track record is an advantage
- A motivated individual who can work well independently as well as with a team.
