Business Engineering (MFR-E) is a function within Risk. The goals of MFR are to deliver value by enabling FO and Risk gain a quantitative insight into the commercial activities of the global RWEST landscape and enable them to enter new markets and provide integral support in the development and implementation of new products. Business Engineering have ownership of Endur and have responsibility for implementing new products, championing standardisation by ensuring key controls are in place and offering key support, advice and expertise to the business. Our work gives us exposure to all areas of the business and we are viewed as key partners to all. The MFR-EC Solid Fuels, Gas and Oil Commodity Team specifically is dealing with a large variety of commodities, e.g. Time Charter, Coal, Biomass, Freight, Gas, LNG and Oil and complex deal modelling. Also the team supports
Motion and the complex swing and storage trade life cycle.
Your responsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain required changes to Endur within the New Business Approval Process (NBAP), i.e. growth initiative in Asian markets
- Trade and price-curve modelling in Endur including market data process
- Maintenance of EoD to improve performance, identify, analyse and reduce errors
- perational maintenance for trade capture and market data processes on a day to day basis as well as on a strategic enhancement level (i.e. holding instrument, deal template creation & adaptations, Nexus Volume Upload to deals)
- Queries from Risk, FO and BO on trade capture and valuations, i.e. Stress testing and Value at Risk calculations question.
- Contributing to the Endur Governance group and take ownership of assigned topics
- Supporting Endur related projects that require changing or heavy building of Endur
- Interact with Business Engineering stakeholder (FO, BO, RISK, IT) on above topics
Your powerful skills
- University degree in a relevant numerate discipline, e.g. Economic, Mathematics, Science or equivalent; experience of Market Risk and ability to understand and solve complex problems.
- Understanding of commodity trading, trading lifecycle, physical asset trading instruments and/or financial trading instruments on a broad range of commodities, experience of the Energy Industry, including utilities, generation assets, energy supply chain, energy trading, supply and sales
- Excellent communication skills
- Well organised and able to priorities
- Experience in cross functionality collaboration in a global environment
- Managing relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, in order to ensure good working relations and negotiated deliverables
- Knowledge of specialist IT systems and software, especially advanced experience in OpenLink Endur, Oracle SQL, MS Office / Excel
- Good problem solving skills
- Strong self-motivation and willingness to learn new tasks quickly
- Knowledge of Gas, LNG, Oil and Solid Fuels products
- Professional level candidate with 5 to 7 years’ experience

- German language skills
