Job Description
Responsibilities
- Develop and assist in the creation of functional specifications.
- Prepare and assist with budget costing.
- Liaise with clients and internal personnel.
- Ensure compliance with OHS&E standards in design and execution.
- Prepare schematic drawings, PLC programs, and operator interface configurations.
- Develop manufacturing and installation specifications.
- Plan and supervise major controls installations.
- Manage the procurement of parts, cabinet manufacturing, and electrical installation.
- Control project costs related to controls.
- Conduct testing and commissioning.
- Prepare test plans, operator, and technical manuals.
- Train client personnel.
- Provide customer support and handover to customer service.
- Expertise in configuring, programming, and commissioning PLCs, variable speed drives, and safety devices (Profinet, Profisafe, AS-I, TCP/IP, PN/PN, SEW Movitools, Movimot, Moviaxis).
- Knowledge of materials handling system controls (WCS and PLC integration).
- Proficiency in writing technical documentation.
The Successful Applicant
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics.
- Design of electrical drawings (EPLAN, EEC One, AutoCAD).
- Supervision of electrical installations.
- System design experience (e.g., power calculation, circuit protection design, safety control circuit).
- Interfacing materials handling systems with third-party equipment (e.g., automatic tag readers, barcode scanners, weigh scales).
- Development of PLC software and office testing (TIA Portal, Ladder, SCL, STL).
- Creation of testing environments and conducting FATs.
- Management of installation crews.
