JOB SUMMARY
Assistant Pet Groomer assists the Pet Groomer for basic pet grooming which consists of bathing & blow drying the pets, cutting the pets’ nails and cleaning the pets’ ears. Housekeeping a must to keep the workplace clean and tidy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Assists the Pet Groomer on the day-to-day business operations of grooming centre
- Ensure all grooming appointments properly scheduled;
- Assist the Pet Groomer on basic pet grooming (no cutting) based on the best practices and customers’ needs;
- Ensure workplace safety, hygiene level and cleanliness of the grooming centre;
- Ensure safety of pets throughout the grooming process;
- Ensure that all pets are well taken care of and in compliance with AVS guidelines;
- Adhere to all the retail SOP, company’s policies, processes and procedures;
- Highlight abnormalities of pets to the customers to avoid unnecessary conflicts or misunderstanding;
- Feedback to Operations Manager operations matters;
- Practice professionalism and acting in the best interests of the company, in all aspects;
- Any other duties / tasks / projects as assigned.
- QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE EDUCATION
No minimum qualification - JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Be a strong team player with positive attitude
- Assist Groomers in handling/holding big pets.
- Able to carry dogs & animals up to 30kg
- Able to work in a warm environment/ wet environment
- Must not be afraid of dog/cat & be bitten/scratched.
- Not fearful to trim pet nails and clean pet ears.
- Must not be sensitive to chemical & fur
LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT
GROOMING COURSE
Knowing the basic skills of grooming is not enough to be a professional pet groomer. For employees whom are interested to be fully equipped with the grooming skills, the company will consider to sponsor the employee to go for full grooming course to upgrade their skill.
