Job Scope:
Project Planning and Coordination:
- Develop commissioning plans and schedules for shipboard machinery systems, electrical, and automation systems.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineering teams, and other stakeholders to align commissioning activities with overall project timelines.
- Allocate resources and assign tasks to commissioning team members.
System Testing and Validation:
- Oversee the installation and testing of shipboard machinery systems, electrical, and automation equipment.
- Conduct pre-commissioning and commissioning tests to ensure systems are installed correctly and function as intended.
- Verify that all systems comply with technical specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain detailed commissioning documentation, including test plans, procedures, and reports.
- Document any issues or discrepancies found during testing and coordinate with relevant teams for resolution.
- Provide regular progress reports to project stakeholders.
Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:
- Identify and resolve issues that arise during the commissioning process.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot and rectify system malfunctions or failures.
- Ensure all problems are addressed promptly to keep the project on schedule.
Quality Assurance:
- Implement quality control measures to ensure the highest standards of workmanship and system performance.
- Conduct inspections and audits to verify compliance with quality standards.
- Ensure that all commissioning activities are carried out in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
Training and Support:
- Provide training and support to shipboard personnel on the operation and maintenance of machinery, electrical, and automation systems.
- Develop training materials and conduct hands-on training sessions as required.
- Offer ongoing technical support to ship operators and maintenance crews.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
- Ensure all commissioning activities adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Promote a culture of safety and ensure all team members follow safety protocols.
- Conduct safety briefings and risk assessments to minimize hazards during commissioning.
Client and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as the main point of contact for clients and stakeholders regarding commissioning activities.
- Communicate project status, issues, and solutions effectively to clients.
- Manage client expectations and ensure their satisfaction with the commissioning process.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for improving commissioning processes and procedures.
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in shipboard machinery and electrical systems.
Job Requirement:
- Diploma/Degree in Marine/Electrical/Electronic Engineering
- Leadership experience in managing a team of Engineers for marine industry
- Knowledgeable for Class & CTS requirement
- Open to work onboard vessel
