A dental technician is a skilled professional who will be responsible on fabricating dental prosthetics like crowns, bridges, dentures, and orthodontic appliances based on dentists' prescriptions. will utilize specialized materials and equipment to create customized dental restorations that improve patients' oral health and aesthetics. Will be ensuring the functionality, comfort, and appearance of dental prostheses, contributing significantly to successful dental treatments and patient satisfaction.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Design dental prosthetics such as crowns, bridges, dentures, and implants using various materials like metal, ceramic, and acrylic.
2. Edit dentist’s digital scan of patients' teeth into precise models to ensure proper fitting and function of dental appliances.
3. Design orthodontic devices, such as clear aligners, to correct dental alignment issues.
4. Fix damaged or broken dental appliances, including adjustments and modifications to ensure optimal patient comfort and function.
5. Operate computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) systems to design and produce precise dental restorations.
6. Choose appropriate materials for each dental appliance based on the specific needs and preferences of patients and dentists.
7. Conduct quality control checks on finished dental appliances to ensure they meet specified standards and patient requirements.
8. Work closely with dentists, orthodontists, and other dental professionals to ensure the accurate and effective creation of dental appliances, discussing complex cases and adjustments as needed.
